Entorno Familiar y Regulación Hipotalámica del Sueño en la Adolescencia: Revisión Sistemática

Introducción: La adolescencia constituye un período crítico para el desarrollo cerebral, donde la calidad del sueño y la regulación emocional son particularmente sensibles a influencias psicosociales, especialmente aquellas provenientes del entorno familiar. Objetivo: Sintetizar la evidencia disponible sobre la influencia del entorno familiar en el sueño adolescente, examinando específicamente el papel mediador del hipotálamo en la regulación emocional y circadiana. Metodología: Revisión sistemática según protocolo PRISMA de 111 estudios publicados entre 2015-2025, identificados mediante búsquedas en PubMed y Redalyc utilizando descriptores relacionados con dinámicas familiares, sueño, regulación emocional e hipotálamo en población adolescente. Resultados: Los conflictos parentales y ambientes disruptivos activan persistentemente el eje HPA, generando alteraciones en los niveles de cortisol, fragmentación del sueño y desregulación emocional. Contrariamente, el apoyo emocional consistente, las rutinas estructuradas y la cohesión familiar facilitan una modulación más eficiente del eje HPA, promueven la estabilidad circadiana y mejoran la calidad del sueño. El hipotálamo emerge como mediador neural crucial que integra estímulos psicosociales con la fisiología del sueño. Conclusión: Los hallazgos resaltan la importancia de implementar intervenciones familiares focalizadas en mejorar prácticas parentales y establecer hábitos de sueño saludables para optimizar el desarrollo neurobiológico y emocional adolescente. Se sugiere la necesidad de futuros estudios longitudinales que combinen evaluaciones neurofisiológicas con mediciones contextuales.Citas
